Piper Aerostar PA-60-602P
FRESH ANNUAL OCTOBER 2023
Designed by Ted Smith and first flown in 1967, the original Aerostar 600 was fitted with luxury accommodation for six and held the speed record for fastest twin piston general aviation aircraft in production. The type was purchased by Piper Aircraft Corporation in 1978, where production continued on the pressurised models, until 1984.
This beautifully presented 'Superstar 700' aircraft offers long-range, high-speed / altitude Machen Superstar 700 mods including extra fuselage tank (40 US gal), 6 pot Calipers; Vortex kit; Twin Rajay Turbo-chargers (350hp per engine) and extra bleed air for a 250 knot cruise. The perfect long-range, multi-passenger commuter to avoid airport congestion and unnecessary delays.
The owner states, “We flight plan XRD at 250knots between 18,000 and 24,000 feet. 75% power setting for 170ltrs per hour consumption. Stressed to +6g/-3g, the airframe exemplifies designer Ted Smith’s approach to designing one of the finest aircraft flying.”
