Glasair Aviation Sportsman
An aircraft that claims to be "the most versatile 4-seat single piston aircraft available" has to back it up in all areas; performance, utility, reliability, comfort. The type boasts a 135kts cruise at Sea Level (75% power), a climb at 2000 fpm after only 121m of take-off distance, and one of the lowest stall speeds in its class at 42 knots. Alongside the latest Garmin avionics, Lycoming power plant and four-seat capacity, it's hard to deny the Glasair Sportsman this accolade.
This magnificent IO-390-powered aircraft was built in the Glasair Aviation facility through the '2 Week to taxi program' that started at Glasair in 2004. The fuselage is carbon-fibre which adds to the useful load of 454kg. Appointed with the very best Garmin equipment, this glass layout is thoughtfully integrated with backup flight instruments, full lighting and auto pilot. Complete with fresh annual and motorised tow-bar, this LAME maintained aircraft also boasts new rear seats (unused), which are easily removable for trips away with two on-board.
