Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat
Having completed its first flight in October 1996, the Ukrainian Aeroprakt A22 was designed by Uri Yakovlev. The LS version was designed to a maximum 600kg MTOW, with outstanding short-field performance and a very low (32kt) stall speed in the landing configuration. Marketed as the 'Foxbat' in Australia, the type also offers outstanding visibility, Rotax-powered engine reliability and dual 'Y-yoke' controls - and it has proven itself as a popular and safe aircraft for agricultural short-field operations or for mid-range touring.
This example has been well-maintained throughout its life. The aircraft offers mid-range engine hours, new propeller, Garmin radio, Garmin 7" colour-map GPS and digital fuel computer - at a fraction of the newly imported price. It would suit the low-to-mid-hour RPC Nav pilot on an agricultural property, as a tourer, or an RAAus flight school line aircraft.
