In 1971, Piper released a Cherokee 140 variant called the Cherokee Cruiser. Although the aircraft kept the 140 designation, it featured a 150HP Lycoming O-320-E2A or O-320-E3D power plant for better performance.

This very special, IFR Cherokee is offered to the market with exceptionally low total time plus a range of extras, STC's and improvements that make it truly unique. Features include a Power Flow exhaust, extended wingtips (reduced stall speed and better performance), gap sealed flight controls, propeller reshaped with vortex generators. A full suite of Garmin avionics including WAAS Nav/Com GPS and fuel computer (coupled to GPS) calculates fuel required and endurance in real time.
